To Swansea, for DIY and grocery provisions. Graham, sawing a length of pre-formed plaster coving into two convenient lengths in the car park at Wickes so’s the resulting pieces would fit in the car. Over-hasty scampi and chips in the coffee shop at Sainsbury’s–no longer to be recommended. Wine and beer and cat litter featuring largest in the shopping trolley and our favourite checkout lady exchanging “I want it to be Summer” feelings with me.
And then, home.
“It’s good to be back,” I said. “Warm and comforting.”
“Yup. Wish the kitchen didn’t smell of curry so much, though.”
“If the faint remnants of curry smell is the worst thing in our lives then we’re not doing too bad.”
“That’s true.”
That first part of your entry reads as nice as a poem.
So many want summer. I would like a very nice long spring here.
I sure know the pain of having the kitchen smell of last night’s meal. A trick I learned is to put out a bowl of regular vinegar and it tends to absorb any stray odors. However, then you have the smell of vinegar to contend with. Must have been a really good meal though to have lingered so long….
Cheers,
Maggie
Our cat box is in the kitchen, and, well….
Try using Dettol Neutra Air it absorbs odours and it’s very good.(works for kitty odours too!)
