Woke this morning to find Graham staring at the broadband modem and router, looking all glum and disconsolate.
“What’s the matter, then?” I asked.
“It doesn’t work. That’s what’s the matter.”
“I will fetch tea.”
Two teas later and we decided that it didn’t work, nothing we could do would make it work and that it was time to call for help.
Help arrived about three hours later in the shape of the tasty cable guy.
He couldn’t get it to work either, so he call for help, departing shortly afterwards with a promise to call.
A while later he called to say it’s an area problem and that all 50kbs customers in Neath were affected. “And you were the first to report a problem,” he said.
“Does that mean I’ll be the first to get a solution?”
“No, ‘fraid not. But someone will call you when it’s fixed.”
Now it’s ten o’clock in the evening, the service is still down, and no-one has called.
Oh well. There’s always tomorrow, I suppose.
