So then. Time to catch up. Graham woke this morning, stretched, and yelled the “I’m better!” cry, and leapt into action, threatening to finish the paintwork in the living room today [which he is very close to achieving at 17:12 in the evening].
I opened one eye, groaned, and told him to call me when it’s done.
Dolly just groaned.
We’ve had a hard time of it, Dolly and I, looking after our loony invalid, and we deserve a bit of R&R to get over the load.
Soon, very soon, the radio in the living room was blaring out again and we all settled to another day’s work.
I phoned BT and cancelled our broadband and landline connection with effect from 08:00 Thursday December 31. That means my good old ‘eniac’ email address will no longer work so anyone who’s got me in their address book under that one needs to change to the googlemail address–if you don’t know it, drop me a message before Dec 31 and I’ll email you the new one.
I’ll be changing the notify address myself so there’s no need to worry about that one.
Actually, I really don’t do much in the way of person-to-person email these days. Like most folks I seem to be happier in a more or less open forum.
I wish I could bounce back and upright like Graham, who’s firing on all cylinders once more as if nothing had happened. At this rate he’ll have the room back in commission by Sunday evening in time to dress the Christmas tree. Then we’ll do Christmas shopping on Monday, stocking up the booze cupboard and all the non-perishables. Tuesday and Wednesday we’ll need to visit Graham’s mother and carry out other vital socialities. We’ll go out again to fetch perishables on Christmas Eve, then back home to lock and bar the door to celebrate the festival in our own quiet way, all by ourselves. It’s going to be a fast and tightly scheduled ride but I’m confident we can do it. Can’t wait.
