No, it’s not a bird. Nor a plane. And it’s certainly not Superman. It’s nothing more nor less than a rather nice 1970s retro fireplace, designed to take an (electric) wood-burning stove. No flat screen TV will mar the white canopy. Not even a picture, so I’m informed. Just pure, plain white. Very 1970s.
Progress on the project from now on will largely be of the less visible kind so after this I’ll wait on the photos until the thing is close to its final state, with the stove in place on the stone-tiled hearth and shelf.
It’s been fun, though, hasn’t it?
