Waiting for the call

Sunday October 4, 2009

We experienced no more than a lick and a promise from the storms and high winds that troubled other parts yesterday and today it’s all passed over, leaving a chill in the air and interesting skies overhead.  I can cope with that.

My cleaning project is done.  The bathrooms are gleaming and, apart from a final dash round with vacuum and duster today, I am about to hang up my cleaner’s hat with a sigh of relief.  Graham is so much better at it than me, and professes to enjoy the task.  I shall not argue.

Nobody knows the cobwebs I’ve managed not to see.

So, Dolly and I are ready for inspection.  Dolly needs a thorough de-matting and brushing and I’m in need of a haircut and toenail clipping.  Graham says those jobs are high on his coming home list.

The trannies have departed from the holiday camp and Graham has finished bar duties, handing over to his deputy.  He’ll be cleaning lines [beer pumps and pipes] today, and taking lunch with one of his old friends, otherwise he’s done and has only to pack his stuff up ready for the trip.

It’s likely to be tomorrow, but there’s many a slip…  I’m just waiting for the call.
