The height of affection

I enjoyed my trip to Swansea yesterday, wandering through the crowds, munching on a splendid toasted sandwich–yes, I know is a panininini but like banananana, I tend to get stuck when spelling it.  I sat for a while, sipping my iced water to dilute an excellent espresso, and watching the world go by.

“Had a busy day?” the coffee-tron asked, politely.

“Me?  No.  I’m retired.  I don’t do busy anymore.”

And then, finally to the big Debenhams department store to contemplate buying new trousers.  Couldn’t manage it.  Found it all too confusing and so I gave up.  Perhaps Graham will have time to help me when we’re in Taunton some time in August.  If not, it can wait for my Autumn re-stock.

I did a great shop in Sainsbury’s–supermarkets I can almost always manage.  They’re having a major push on the price war, with offers like I’ve never seen before, so I did a grand push on stocking up the freezer with good stuff.  I avoided the wine department, though.  If I had a cupboard full of wine and a freezer full of good food I’d never go out again.

Back home, Dolly was thrilled to see me.  That is, she shifted over to make room for me on the bed without being prodded.  Believe me, that’s the height of affection for Dolly.
