Adjustment

It’s a matter of adjustment, I suppose.  Like, me to my new regime, and Dolly to fit the puzzle.

I’m working on a framework schedule for myself:

  • Monday:  Shopping
  • Tuesday:  Laundry
  • Wednesday:  House cleaning
  • Thursday:  Gardening
  • Friday, Saturday and Sunday:  Unassigned

Alongside that I need to decide whether to do my online journal first thing in the morning or last thing in the day before TV and dinner.  The offline journal has long since dissolved into jottings in my notebook alongside whatever poetry work I’m doing.

Not that there’s much of that.  Work, I mean.

Important items on my to-do list:

  • Frontline for Dolly, who seems to be troubled with little visitors now that she’s a part-time outdoor cat, and summer is upon us
  • Check offside rear tyre on the car–might have a slow puncture
  • Get myself a fisherman’s ‘vest’ to replace my bag;  and find out what the British English for ‘vest’ is if it’s not ‘waistcoat’
  • Get a new Filofax

Apart from that I wish to record that I have instituted a total ban on all things Michael Jackson, avoiding the online headlines, and keeping the TV and radio mute buttons close to hand. The rest of that story is, so far as I am concerned, silence.

  1. Oh, poor Dolly! I’m sure you’ll be getting and applying that Frontline tut suite before the house gets infested.

I’ll be doing that today, Wendy! Fortunately, Dolly is a 100% effective flea magnet and any unwelcome visitors in the house hit her Frontline barrier TDS. :D

  2. If you’d ask me :-) I’d opt for a morning post of your journal. It’s sort of perfectly wonderful to start the day with a cup of coffee and you! :-)

Un-oh – you’re changing laundry day? Whatever will Graham do when he returns…lol.

Count my vote along with Brigitte’s. I loved it when you posted in the morning.

  4. Good Plan!!! If, for example, Thursday comes up rainy, you can shuffle it off to one of the unassigned days.

Re. the post time, it really doesn’t matter. I’m so ‘outta synch’ with you’all. It makes me smile whenever I see your notify. Today’s missive arrived at 2:51 PM, Korean time.

  5. I’ve given up on the news for now……….did you know that Michael Jackson had died? ;)

Apparently nothing else has happened in the world.

  6. Friday, Sat, Sun= movies and wine :)

I also need to schedule my chores, or they won’t get done. And I love reading your blog in the morning. You are a great start to my day. Stay well.

  8. I read you in the morning so I don’t notice the time you post. :-)

Wil told me this morning the ad man I despise and would mute everytime he came on, died. Billy Mays. So of course I endured the other persons news of the day just to see what happened to Mays. A possible hit on the head from fallen luggage when the plane he was on had a hard landing.

I don’t know if I ever want to fly again.

  9. What? Michael Jackson is dead. Oh no! Civilization is doomed.

  10. I’m sticking to my schedule tho my G will now be home most days because he was laid off.

  11. How about a once-a-week purposeful trip to the seaside? With, of course, a subsequent posting of pictures.

  12. Sounds perfectly civilized, your schedule that is…

  13. ooops, sorry I meant to add, Fri, Sat and Sun…….. Dolly time, a lovely run out to the Seaside, and your favorite film and plonk.
    Respectively in that order…or not.

  14. You mentioned a park that you wanted to explore.

I liked your regime and think I will emulate it, except.. one day will be for an outing. I tend to hibernte unless I build in fun.

  15. You will need a suitable hat to go along with that vest–perhaps a bucket hat with fishing flies hooked into it to give you that authentic look.

  16. I agree with novie – a hat would be the very thing! It should be light enough not to bother you in sultry weather, when it keeps you from squinting in the sun – and sturdy enough to keep rain from your eyes, should you be taken in a squall unawares…

I just can’t wait to see a picture of you so adorned!

I’d leave the fishing flies and hooks though, or every Tom, Dick and Harry will want to talk about fishing!

    LOL – re: Satalya!

    This made my night! :D
