Each day it gets a little hotter and, though they’re promising a cool-down by the weekend, the start of that seems to move away as we get to it. For once I’m doing fine. This house keeps a good steady temperature and, thanks to the wall and loft insulation we installed back at the beginning of the year, the heat seems to stay out in summer just as much as it stays in during the winter. That was a sound and very worth-while investment.
Graham’s been stuck at home taking delivery of and pressing into service his new consumer durables and, between times, painting the kitchen. It’s looking good.
I’m not sure which is the more significant of the two new gadgets he’s acquired. A new mini-pad computer, running standard Windows 98, doesn’t seem to offer anything but more of the same. His first iPod, however, promises great advantages for a bloke who loves music almost more than anything else. Apparently this little piece of black plastic will hold digital copies of all his CDs and leave oodles of space over for pop videos and the like. And then he can go on, via the Apple online store, to buy worthy tracks for ever more.
“You’ve taken your first dimensional slice into the appleverse,” I said.
“That’s good. Make a note of that.”
“I already did.”
Thanks to my iphone I now listen to music again. I hope Graham gets as much use from his ipod.
Glad the heat stays out of the house – this is a good thing in summer. Which iPod did Graham get? I’m guessing iPod touch. They are amazing inventions, I would be lost without mine.
I’m so glad you’re seeing the benefits of your new insulation, both, when it was cold and now with the heat!
Nothing beats, money well spent!
No iPods for us. But I am thinking of getting one of the BlackBerrys when our contract comes up this month.
He says it’s a “120 gbyte classsic”, Shirley.
Summer heat can be quite nice too…, as long as you’ve got a cool place to retreat, to relax and to sleep!
I am so very grateful to be rid of Windows 98. They did announce today the release date for 7. Will he let you take pictures yet?
Tim got a new ipod lately. He’s still not out of the “new toy” stage. This is coming from Sunny Vancouver. (What a beautiful city!) Back home tomorrow…sigh…
