Clever

CLEVER

Somewhere
in the quiet daytime
there is a tree
to the right of a broad path.

A line of rough grass
leads left to right
showing where path stops
and sky starts.

Quite clever, really.

Ah, I read the poem over and over. It allowed me to feel so peaceful. I’ve bookmarked it so I can always go back to it. So contemplative.

  4. And I think the poet is quite clever as well…

  5. Quite clever indeed.Don’t know why noone has mentioned this before?! :-) Love the poem and the poet!

  6. That is one of the paths in Memorial Park in Houston. Or at least that is the image I imagined. Thanks for the poem.

And there I am sitting beneath the tree with a book, the sun squinting through the leaves , and all at peace with my world. This is what you have conjured up for me on a dreary afternoon.
    Thanks

  8. “A line of rough grass” also marks that junction atop Toedock Mountain in Korea.
