Looking good

Graham put the finishing touches to the cat-alley-o this morning and Dolly took her first steps outdoors.  She relished in it, in the fresh air and in the sunshine.  There’s more basic work to be done, including putting down timber decking over the tired concrete and then applying a coat of dark preservative over the new timber works.  The walls will get painted when we paint the outside of the house.

We made a start on greening it up, though, moving a couple of Dolly’s favourite pot plants [that's patio container plants] into appropriate corners.  We’ll be making further greening with new containers and with the little water feature we’ve not used since the original catio in the little wooden house in the west.

But, whatever, Dolly had a lovely half-hour or so, perhaps as much as an hour, while we sat down to lunch, and then she came in on her own accord, had a good clean, and then herded me off to bed for my afternoon nap.  She makes a good cuddle does Dolly.

As I write she’s still there, stretched out, mungling over the big event in her day.  I’m sure she’s confident that she’ll have free run when she wants it.  Meantime, there’s a lot of processing to be done in that great furry head of hers.

The major effects of withdrawal from my meds disappeared over night and I’ve had a pretty good, close to normal day, with very little coughing at all.  I’m still feeling rather weary, though, and ready to take to my floor cushion, Stargate SG-1, and a good big glass of wine before dinner.

All in all, things are looking good once more.
