Play nice

I’m to see the doc on Monday, on a quest for stronger medication and closer diagnosis.  The problem with a cold that goes on too long is that you lie awake in the small hours imagining all sorts of horrid outcomes.

Time to put a stop to all that.

I’m tired of this self-obsession, and I apologise for it.  So I’m going to take a short break from the journal, returning Monday evening with a status report at the very least.

Until then, play nice.

Oh John – I hope you feel completely better, soon!

Hey – There are crocuses in my garden!!! Yellow ones! (I guess I planted them last year and forgot all about them). Spring is coming! And we need you to get better and get out there so you can take some photos of lovely Wales!

    Have a great weekend, guys!

All good wishes flying as fast as they can to you across the Pond, John. Enjoy the quiet, if you can quit coughing long enough to! Theres not much in this world more tiring than an incessant cough, so here’s to getting it GONE! And YOU, well!!!!!

  4. Peaceful weekend John.

John, if you feel like you are retaining fluids, bring it up to the doctor. That will cause one to have a lasting cough too, as well as making it difficult to lay down and sleep soundly. Just a thought that has come from personal experience. Carrying extra weight, and not getting regular exercise can do this to an older person. (I am around your age).

I hope that you will be feeling better soon.

  6. Okay! We’ll play nice but tell Quilly to stop hitting me.
There does seem to be some kind of lingering cold virus in the air around here as well. Hope the Doctor can give you something.

  7. No need to apologize, John. I think we’ve all been through those middle of the night wonderings.
I hope you get something strong enough to kick this away for all time. Good luck at the doctor’s.

  8. Oh goodness, feel better!

  9. Ha…..nice? I don’t know. I eagerly await your news.

Excellent idea to request a different antibiotic. As someone who is plagued with upper respiratory problems, I’ve discovered that some antibiotics may or may not work. I’ve had extremely good results from Advair that works on the upper and lower respiratory system. Watch our for decongestants with an anti-diuretic. they can cause all kinds of problems.

Actually, medicine has reached the point where you, more or less, know what will work for you. And you have to be the one to tell the doctor.

Here’s hoping for a good report, new medication and the sleep of angels.

  11. I do hope you are feeling better soon.

  12. well, the weirdest thing just happened. Where you had commented on MY journal today, John, I clicked on your little icon (?) next to your comment thingy to read yours, and it wasn’t until I was almost all the way thru reading your recent entry before I realized it was you OLD journal page done in Dec. 2008 when you talked about the “New Year” that I realized something was amiss. hrmph.

    Please feel better soon.

  13. All good healing wishes to you, John, and good luck today! :-)
