In answer to Graham’s need to visit a really, really big DIY supplies store we went to Wickes Extra in Swansea. Astonishing. So big you can only just see one end from the other.
“What do you think of this?” Graham asked in hushed cathedral tones.
“Lovely. Where’s the loo?”
So, anyway, after my far more important needs were satisfied, in the cleanest loo I’ve ever seen, anywhere, we turned our attention to Graham’s and secured the delivery, tomorrow, of an awful lot of insulation rolls, destined to line the lofts and render the house properly cosy. That’ll be nice.
Graham’s getting impatient, too, on the installation of cavity wall insulation. I suspect that company will be getting an “are you still in business?” call very, very soon.
As to Wickes, I was impressed. Clean. Well-ordered. Exceptionally polite and helpful staff. And you can’t ask for better than that. Moreover, Graham came out of the place all bubbly and happy with his lot. I certainly don’t ask for more than that.
