Some grand Welsh singing

Nothing much is occuring here today, so let’s just sit back and listen to some grand Welsh singing:

  1. What a great way to start my day. Thank you, John. I don’t know if I “were there when they laid him in the tomb,” but those lovely voices singing in that rich Welsh harmony was just lovely. Now there is something I can picture YOU doing… joining a Welsh choir. In fact, I thought I saw you in there singing… was it you? Your deep beautiful voice would be a welcome addition to any choir I would think.

  2. Very sweet of you, Bex, but an Englishman in a Welsh choir would be constantly under attack for singing sharp! :D

  3. Better sharp than flat, I’m thinking! But that is such an experience it’s hard to come back into the world after listening to those wonderful voices and strong, full harmonies. No wonder the Welsh are noted for their fine singing. Any idea, if that was taken at an eisteddfod? I would dearly love to attend one of those. I’d love to hear something sung in Welsh. Maybe I need to check out the web.

  4. That was truly soulstirring, John! How beautiful it was! I had to chase down the info on it; there were over 8,000 men from all over the UK and other countries in that chorus. Amazing! Thank you for giving us a chance to hear it.

  5. Thank you.

  6. Well I’m glad Sil chased that down because I couldn’t believe how large that choir was.

Our service today was of course still Christmas music. Decorations will now come down this weekend.

  7. Lovely !

  8. Quite a large contingent!

Speaking of Wales – Saw this today and thought it was “interesting” http://www.simondale.net/house/index.htm

No, of course I don’t see you guys in anything like that – a little drafty I would imagine and a bit damp…. :-)

  9. That was just lovely. Thank you. And I have just spent 3 days wondering where you had gone, when it occurred to me to look at your new site. It looks great.

  10. Thanks, John. That’s a favorite hymn of mine. The musicians are to be commended.
