I made a rosemary bread the other day in my bread machine and just for fun I threw in a cup of those little fruits they use in fruitcakes, and it came out quite nice, all rosemary-y smelling, and bits of fruits, and all. I sure love a bread-machine. Have you ever thought of having one for yourselves? It’s quite easy putting together a bread from scratch that way. Anyroad, have a healthy New Year.

It does, of course, reminds me of the yumny ‘brioches aux raisins’ from back home, and you’ve made me long for one. The brioches are a traditional sweet bread at Christmas (although they can be found year round), and so I am guessing the two are related? Either way, it looks so delicious, I’m just going to have to find a good brioche recipe!

I love your misty header picture, that would be the area around Neath and its abbey, wouldn’t it?

Reminds me, somehow, of the days back in the 50s when I kept journal in hard-cover bound notebooks and started a new volume each year.

I think I’ve found all the bad links and such now (except for the one in the notify, where there’s no mending) so the whole thing needs a couple of days (the Internet guys say three) to settle down and rationalize across caches and so-on. If there are any persistent problems after that, let me know, and I’ll see what I can do.

And now I’m taking a glass of something nice into the living room and flopping in front of the TV. Goodnight, all!
